[ he did yes indeed! rondo's chilling somewhere, laying down like a good boy. it's hard to tell the total state of his injuries - he's back in his knight clothes - but he seems to be doing better? through the thin peek in the middle of his collar, astarion can see that his throat is this blackened, dark color, crackled and burnt. occasionally, it glows a sort of eerie blue. it's fine. ]

Especially if you make a deal with him and essentially hand it to him on a platter.

[ a deal. contracts and all. ] He even knew about this place, and talked about giving us things that could help us here, if we refused to help Miss Hope and chose to just leave, instead.

Even if I thought it was going to be a fair deal - which I didn't - I wouldn't have given her up to him. But creatures like that... they can make all the promises in the world, and they'll never, ever be fair. The cost is never as low as they pretend, and the cost of Miss Hope's life was priceless, let alone my own.

Yes, that's how they work. Find the one thing you want, and broker a deal that may get you want you think you need but at a close that far exceeds your reward.

Sometimes it's not too bad, but there's usually a catch. It's simply how cambions work.
