astarion has found his way into the mini fridge and brought some of the contents outside of the cabin with him, so he can stand just outside the door and stare up at the rather nice dark sky with smatterings of stars. he doesn't seem too bothered by the howling sounds from just beyond the outskirts.
he's also turning a soda can in his hand. someone tell him he shouldn't do that. ]
These places get stranger and stranger every week.

and here we are! rondo has been exploring the infirmary so he has his arms full of supplies. when he pokes his head out, though, he notices astarion... and his echoing thoughts ]
I don't know, I find that the gas station was the strangest... I don't mind this place so much. [ and with a little bow! ] Good evening, Mr. Astarion. [ It's so nice to see the stars, again. ]

The gas station was the strangest -- but a cabin in active wolf territory? Also rather weird.

And - yes! Yes, it reminds me a little of home. We had the sort of stars, last week, and there are the odd orange ones in the village, but... this is different. It's nice.

That's true. I guess... my family would've probably...tried...not to vacation with wolves...? But that doesn't mean there wouldn't still be wolves. Or.... other monsters. They're really everywhere.

Mm. [ for the intensity bit! ] I really, really like it. It reminds me of home - in the Cliftlands, you can see so, so many stars. It feels like you can reach out and touch them with your bare hands.

[ rondo comes from a line of fight nuts and has a battle butler.
but besides that... ] Mm. It's all cliffs and bluffs, and there's not a lot of tree coverage, either. Our family manor was at the very top of one of the tallest bluffs in Bolderfall, so sometimes my sister and I would sneak out of the window and lay on the roof to look up at the stars.

They do say the further you are from larger cities, the clearer the sky is. Baldur's Gate has always been a busy place, so I hadn't really thought about whether I was seeing the sky clearly or not.

No. Although I believe we’re both from there? It doesn’t surprise me our paths didn’t cross though. [ what with him skulking around at night most of the time and her only being born about 201 years after him. ]
Our meeting circumstances were different. Quite a way from Baldur’s Gate as well.

He recruited our aid, especially after discovering a certain shared issue we had. But of course, meeting Karlach was a very different matter. The two of them seemed to work things out rather well, despite everything though.
