we are so doing this. rondo takes kate over to the scaresco snack bar, gets them a bunch of snacks - churros and hot dogs included - and then steers her over to where the couches/furniture area is. it is only once he finds the comfiest looking couch that he disappears to grab a big fluffy blanket and throw it over the top, and then comes and settles down right next to her. comfy couch fort. ]

[ because. yeah. yeah, of course it does - every decision they've had to make, every decision kate in particular had to make, has been so brutally cruel, so stupidly, ridiculously unfair. he hugs her tightly, chin on her head, not caring if he gets covered in soot as he thinks about what he wants to say and just rocks her quietly, trying to be as comforting and soothing as he can.
