[ now that things have been reappropriated correctly, rondo can be found sitting by the fire. he's dressed in his actual uniform now, hair back in its usual ponytail, looking decidedly more knightly than he did in the weird cult fit! it's actually not that different but that's besides the point.
more importantly he is holding a bigass sword - he's just kind of staring up at it, expression pulled into a deep, thoughtful frown as the flames reflect back on the surface of the weapon, which is a darker color than it appears, tinged blue and pink like an afterthought.
[ she will wander over and take a seat next to him! she's changed into her own clothes which were apparently... a white t-shirt and white shorts. and combat boots. ]
... It's a relief to see people with their weapons back.
rondo glances over when he hears ashlyn's voice, startling a little - he then laughs, a soft huff of a rueful noise, and looks up at the blade again. ]
Mm... though, this blade isn't mine. [ damn ] But... it's probably for the better that I have it, I think. Did you end up receiving something from those odd boxes as well, Miss Ashlyn...?
Yes, that's correct. It's - I didn't know it had a name. [ "fisteralda", the worst name for a sword in the entire world, but that's why he didn't recognize it. ] It... I suppose it's supposed to be mine, someday.
[ there's a pause as he says that, looking up - and then he huffs and goes to sheathe the sword in an expert motion, turning instead to. look at her. ]
Some - ah, I see! It is much better to be like this, isn't it...? Those robes were... um...
he makes a little noise, agreeing to the first part. maybe she's right. maybe he should - maybe... well... it's probably better that he has it, at least, he frowns down at the sword in the sheath for a moment longer, but - thankfully, ashlyn's comment distracts him, and rondo laughs.
it kind of just comes out of his mouth, startled, and he ducks his head. ]
... I felt a bit like a cleric... which I don't think I'd be very good at being...
[ she doesn't want to press about the sword because that sounds like it could be personal and she just doesn't want to get into it is Polite. so yay, this seems easier to talk about. ]
What do clerics do? They're like healers in video games, right? [ how would he know. ]
Oh, there are a lot! I'm not much of a scholar, so I don't know all the details, but... there's light magic and fire magic, I use both of those, kind of. And... darkness? And ice magic. That one's the worst, if you ask me...
[ its so COLD ]
It's mostly just whatever the monsters and demihumans have used that human beings learned how to adapt to. Or how to practice, I guess? I don't really know how it works.
That's good... [ like, really, because orsterra SUCKS it sucks so bad. ] The less dangerous the better! A lucky thing to have. What would you use light magic for, do you think?
Heh, it's pretty useful when you have to get up to head for the latrines in the middle of the night. Oh - though, don't tell anyone you do that, you might get scolded for it.
