There are these... rings that belong to the gods in Orsterra. When a human being has them, they can influence that person into doing horrible, horrible things - and... sometimes, when they ask the ring for more power, it... twists them into something different. Something monstrous.

I've only seen it happen once, myself, but... it's pretty horrifying.

People just make stupid choices sometimes. That's one thing... [ but yeah. this whole mess is different. no one is choosing. ] Can it be fixed? Whatever happens to people with those rings?
Not... in any way that I've ever seen. By the point they've transformed, they've stopped caring - I don't think anything could bring them back. [ the gods punishing humanity for their hubris, really. ] It's... like a consequence you can't turn back from.
